PTO will once again purchase school supplies for students next school year.

Steph Sorbel, fifth-grade teacher at Cedar Island Elementary, has spent much of her life preparing for the classroom. She traces her interest in education back to childhood, when she organized makeshift lessons for neighborhood kids in her garage.

Osseo Area Schools’ teachers are a lifeblood of district schools. Each day, so many talented and hardworking teachers work to ensure students get the support they need academically and beyond.

Students at Cedar Island Elementary School have found unique ways to engage with music so far this school year with the extracurricular activities Bobcat Choir and Modern Band.

Students in Ms. Larson’s fourth grade class and Mr. Deuel’s fifth grade class at Cedar Island Elementary School participated in a listening session with district leaders on Nov. 19. Students had the opportunity to give their feedback in a fun and interactive way. 

While the 2025-26 school year is still young, Osseo Area Schools is already making preparations for a smooth transition to new attendance boundaries at the elementary and middle school level for the fall of 2026. 

Our Student Ambassadors have planned a fun week for all of us and we’re excited to celebrate School Spirit Week with our Cedar Island community!
